We have an obligation to the abilities we DO have, not the disability.
- Jim Abbott, Yankees One-Handed PitcherCivil war, conflict and lack of access to medicine account for the vast majority of physical and intellectual disabilities in the world. While it certainly isn’t limited to a specific continent or region, in the areas in which we work, the need is arguably the greatest.
For those that have been affected by war or neglected because of their disability, we want to engage them and return to them the dignity all human beings deserve regardless of physical appearance or ability.
We have had the incredible opportunity to experience the joy and even the heartache of disabled men, women and children around the world through our Adaptive sports programs - whether it be sitting volleyball in Sudan, adaptive sports camps in Iraq, wheelchair basketball in Jordan or blind chess in Yemen.
